WHO WE ARE
Connections is the English congregation of First Evangelical Church of San Gabriel Valley, a multi-cultural, non-denominational church started in 1986 with services conducted in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. We exist to make genuine disciples of Jesus through loving relationships with God and with one another, delivering the good news of the gospel in the San Gabriel Valley and throughout the world.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the inspired Word of God and completely inerrant in their original writings. They are the ultimate and final authority in faith and Christian living.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And the Father is the Almighty God who created and sustains the whole universe through the Son and in the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was begotten of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary. He is true God and true man. He was crucified, died, and was buried for the atonement of sin. He rose again from the dead on the third day and ascended bodily into heaven as our Priest and Advocate. He will return bodily to earth.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the triune Godhead. He is the Comforter who guides and inspires us to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He leads and enlightens us in understanding God’s Word and He also guides and inspires our daily walk with God.
We believe that humankind was created in the image of God. Humankind sinned and fell, thereby incurring not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from God. All humankind is born with a sinful nature.
We believe that all who repent of their sins and receive by faith Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God.
We believe that the local church is the gathering of the redeemed believers on the earth in a certain locality and is a part of the universal church of God. We believe in the principle of separation of Church and State, guaranteeing an individual’s freedom to choose one’s own faith.
We believe that every redeemed believer is commissioned to witness and make disciples both locally and worldwide.
We believe that every redeemed believer is to be light and salt of the earth. Thus, he/she should lead a life that demonstrates, upholds, and aids the welfare and justice of society.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the believer and of the non-believer, and in the everlasting blessedness of the believer and the everlasting conscious punishment of the non-believer.
OUR PASTOR
Pastor Larry Kim has a deep passion for ministry and a heart for serving God's people. He earned his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA in 2009 before answering God's call to ministry, completing his Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in 2020. He was ordained through the Evangelical Church Alliance in 2021.

With over two decades of ministry experience, Pastor Larry has been actively involved in Worship & Praise since 2001, served in Youth Ministry since 2010, and faithfully ministered as an Assistant Pastor since 2018 at his previous church. In 2025, he joined FECSGV to lead the Connections community, seeking to foster deep relationships and spiritual growth. His passion is to raise up genuine disciples who know Jesus and live out His love in everyday life.
Beyond ministry, Pastor Larry enjoys spending time with his wife, Camille, and their daughter, Aurora. He loves discovering great food, playing board games, watching football, and sharing life’s moments with others through meaningful conversations.
